Why Coffee Became More Than Just a Beverage in My Brand
The other day, someone asked me a question that really made me laugh and think: “When did you start liking coffee, and what made you incorporate it into your brand?”
Well, here’s the thing — I didn’t start liking coffee. Coffee has always been part of my DNA, thanks to my granddad. Picture this: a sweet, wide-eyed, innocent 2-year-old… sipping coffee. Yup, you read that right. While other kids were probably getting juice boxes, I was sipping coffee with my granddad like I had a mortgage to pay. It’s funny now, but back then, it was completely normal to me.
Growing up in what I affectionately call the “State of Miami”, Dade County to be exact, (because let’s be real, Miami is different from the rest of Florida, might as well be its own country), my love for coffee grew. Miami is like this beautiful melting pot of cultures, and coffee plays a starring role in just about all of them. There’s the richness of Cuban coffee, which is basically a legal form of rocket fuel. You take one of those little shots and suddenly, you’ve solved hunger, written a best-selling novel, and deep-cleaned your house all before noon. Cuban coffee isn’t just a drink; it’s a lifestyle. In Miami, twice a day, like clockwork, people gather around for their “cafecito” break, and if you’re not participating, are you even living in Miami?
