Seven Reasons Why Becoming a Mentor Matters to You

As a manager and entrepreneur that coaches other entrepreneurs, I’m fully aware of the many roles we play in our lives — just trying to balance it all. We are professionals, spouses, family members, brothers, sisters, co-workers, leaders, coaches, friends and neighbors to name just a few. While you may not wear all of the hats I just listed, you can likely add several more that aren’t mentioned and many of these roles are a given, they come with being a responsible adult.

In doing “all of the things” that encompasses these roles, we find ourselves very busy and most times overwhelmed. With the return to work, many of priorities and tasks may find us even busier than we were pre-pandemic! I attribute it all to two factors, too many roles and too little time.

So where are you going with this, Lynn?

Okay, I know it may seem absurd to pen an article that encourages taking on another role and adding another task to your booked and busy schedule; but that is exactly what I am doing. In this article I’m going to explain why, despite the competition for our time and energy, being a mentor is one of the best things you can do that will not only inspire someone else, but enrich a little happiness your way.
