Not Built to Break by Lynnecia S. Eley

Have you ever felt stuck in a situation, unable to move forward or find a way out? It’s a frustrating and overwhelming feeling, but it’s not uncommon. Everyone goes through difficult times where they feel stuck, whether it’s in a job, relationship, or personal challenge. But being stuck doesn’t mean you have to stay there. With the right mindset and approach, you can find your way out and move forward. This is where my acronym S.T.R.E.N.G.T.H comes in.

Often, we may think that most opposition comes from those around us like a complaining spouse, that road-raging driver on our morning commute, or an over controlling boss, but rarely do we acknowledge the truth that we are mostly our own worst critic. Getting stuck in a cycle of self-defeating behavior is easy and getting unglued requires work — inner work, starting with yourself and coupled with faith, courage and determination.

Last year (2022), I participated in an anthology project and wrote a chapter called Not Built to Break. The book is titled Stuck is NOT Your Story: I Overcame and Am Victorious. It is a compilation of seemingly impossible stories where women from all walks of life are forced to do the unthinkable, to dig deep within themselves and rise above their trauma, reforged into who they want to be and who they deserve to be.
